This analysis was created in QGIS by overlapping a modern tracing of the Macanese territory over a historical map. It explores Macau’s land mass expansion over the last three decades and its subsequent development in the gambling and tourism industries, despite the city being one of the most densely populated region in the world (22,250/km² as of 2022).
